I used it by mixing with Johnson past wax and mineral spirits.
It works ok. But gums up the seating dies.
I Started powder coating a couple years ago and like it a lot better.
My lead levels got a little high and the PC keeps me from having to handle raw lead.

It works, and it's a very straightforward process. I use it occasionally.

I've been using it exclusively for the past 6 years. It works very well, including out of 18" levergun barrels. The key is to use enough of it, i. e. don't be afraid to get your boolits good 'n' ambered.

I have videos on the subject showing how to lube 1,000 boolits at a time, in 5 minutes (see my sig). Let 'em dry overnight, and they're ready to load.

I having been using it for many years. I use it straight and I also mix it 60/40 with Johnson's Liquid Floor Wax. Over at CastBoolits this mixture is called Ben's Liquid Lube after the guy who invented it.

I used to make my own 45-45-10 which is Alox/Paste Wax/Mineral Spirits. But I found it to be cheaper and less hassle to buy 45-45-10 from White Label Lube.

Straight Lee Alox is very good and if applied correctly will work very well.

I use these lubes on 357 mag rounds from a revolver to 1200 fps and on gas-checked rifle bullets to 2100 fps.

I'd rather spend the time and PC the boolits I cast.

I powder coat as well, just curious to see who uses it and how.

I apply it after casting 50 or so bullets. The bullets are still warm so the Alox kind of flash dries on the bullets. I use a paper bowl. A quarter sized puddle of Alox in the bowl. Add the bulllets. Shake them around. Done. It works just fine.

I do the 45/45/10 but have added candle wax dye to darken it some, helps see the bullets are coated.

I was then given industrial powder dye that's used to color polyester and a few teaspoons mixed into warm 45/45/10 really did the trick. Bullets aren't green like PC or Hi-Tek but certainly colored.

I just ordered Hi-Tek powder and plan to do that. Need to source a convection toaster oven or a full size convection.

I tried some recently on a small batch of 45 ACP 200 gr SWC. My lead measured about 11 for Brinell which should have been good for less than 900 fps. I used 5.0 grains of titegroup and after shooting those 42 rounds had to clean about half a bullets worth of lead out of my barrel. Before I shot those, I shot 30 powder coated of the same mold but cast out of sheet lead, 56-66 on my cabine tree lead hardness tester with minimal smears on the barrel that I got clean in a couple of minutes.

                        Moral of my story

I will stick with PC and

I will work on my PC technique
