Still got mine stored in the original box. The instructions said to NOT use Federal primers, which is what the re-design is supposedly all about with the blocking pin. Lee claimed that Federals could go off when pressing them in. I loaded several thousand Federals with no issues, so I don't know if it was some kind of scare tactic or what. I had read that Lee had some hard feelings toward Federal, but I don't know what they were.

My original 1980's Lee Auto prime broke just like that many years ago.

Fortunately I was able to buy a new one right before the new model came out.

Actually bought two so one was for spp and the other lpp.

I have one extra arm left and when that breaks I'm going to hand cut a new one from brass.

I hope the two I have last as long as I do. I would miss having an Autoprime.

Pretty sure that's where I read it. My copy of the book is at least ten years old.

I reload more on a Timex budget than a Rolex budget. My Dillon 550 and RCBS charge master were gifts from my wife with input from our son-in-law. But that priming tool sure looks good.

Sadly, yes.

I have a lot of Lee stuff. Had the OP's primer (or similar), snapped the handle off twice. Lee finally offered an upgrade as they didn't sell that model anymore. I upgraded to the Lee Ergo primer. Its complete crap. REALLY dislike that primer.

Any other brand hand primers y'all like?
