    Time to start reloading??

I've been thinking up of excuses for not reloading for too long and I'm out of excuses. I think I'm ready to take the plunge and get into reloading.

With my personality of being a little OCD about minor details and getting jollies from tinkering with crap, this new hobby is a little risky at best. I feel like I might as well say "I'm gonna start smoking crack" or "I think I'll try dating a redhead".

I don't think I'm gonna save much money over the ammo I currently burn through the most but if I go lead free, I could save a bunch. I have a pretty good stash of 223 brass. I'm really intrigued by some caliber a that aren't well supported by commercial ammo. But do I need crack and redheads in my life??!!

    Anyone else go through this??

    Thanks!

Having OCD can be an important trait in the creation of accurate ammunition. I certainly wouldn't see that as a bad thing or detraction.

Sounds to me like you're a good candidate.

I decided last week to get into reloading after seeing how much it would cost to buy factory ammo to feed my 30-06 mauser.

I'm OCD when it comes to reloading. That is a good thing. You can justify it by saying you'll save money, but you will just shoot more for the same price. Price per round you will save...

              Time to start reloading??

Perfect example, I went to the range yesterday afternoon (2 hours). My friend calls me in the evening and ask if I wanted to go shooting (of course). I went shooting for 4 hours total yesterday. I collected most of my brass. I shot almost 700 rounds yesterday total.

              ImageUploadedByTapatalk1458453421.008923.jpg

That was about $100 in reloads alone. 9mm and 45acp.

I try to go to the range at least twice a week. This time I got it all in within one day.

Do it. It's very rewarding even if the wife questions why there's brass in her oven. [emoji1]

Learn it, master it - not all that hard. Go to some classes.

I measure every powder drop using aN inexpensive scale from Amazon. Not many do that for pistol.

                  Its easy and relaxing.

                    Do not start reloading.
There are too many already and it makes finding supplies harder as well as raising the prices.
I think the democraps are going to pass a law that if you were not reloading before 1980 you cannot do so now.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

LOL. I think the gas range may allow more moisture to build? I stick a 12" thermometer in the door which cracks it open to allow moisture to escape and to also monitor the heat.

I like my redhead's crack. Both of them actually... But aside from that comment I rarely make my posts all sexual like that. You might be more served in making cameras that can look through peepholes from outside a motel door... ;\

yeah, if reloading was a vehicle that could take you places, it would transform from a boat to a plane on a whim...
