    Winchester 231

It's been 4 years that I have been looking for Winchester 231...but at today's gun show at Del Mar Fairgrounds, I finally was lucky enough to score a jug (and 1000 primers) for $230 after tax.

I've kinda just been staring at it. I don't really even wanna open it. lol

I hope it was an 8 pound jug. Cabelas had 231 a couple of weeks ago.

Haven't seen any either. I've been using HP38 for a couple years now. Same powder, or so I've been told.
It's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom.

I've seen it at a few shop in LA/OC shops. I bought some myself. I just don't know when this supply is gone off the shelves how long will the wait be before it hits the shelves again.

I bought some HP-38 in a 8 lb jug, same stuff as w231.
It usually a little cheaper and seems to be easier to find.
BUT, both seem to appear in waves.

You seem to able to get one, but not the other, the last few years.

JFC! I am sorry to hear that. Did they offer you first aid afterwards?

Well, that price is not TOOOOO bad actually, but if you are buying an 8lber then you should have paid closer to around $150...

Wished I had known you were looking into that, I would have cut you in on my powder purchase a few months ago.

Don't mean to thread jack but damn Stillys back. There was plenty of powder to be had at the Del Mar gun show. If I wasn't after a 8# jug of rifle powder I would have bought a jug of win 231. I have to thank Stilly for turning me on to Phillips Wholesale in Covina. It's definatly worth watching what they have in stock
