    Polishing tricks?

I want to get my brass super shiny, (like Hornady ammo used to be back in 70's) I tried NuFinish car wax, and that helps but its not quite there yet. Any other cheap polishing additives?

Are you dry tumbling or wet tumbling before the run with the NuFinish?

Ya, if NuFinish in the tumbler isn't good enough (it is for me). Then, I would suggest a buffing wheel on your bench grinder. A little polishing compound on it will shine them up something good. Too much work for range ammo though.

Are you using corn cob media? That will polish much better than the walnut media. I use Cabelas case polish with corn cob and get beautiful shiney brass.

I want to get my brass super shiny,
How many cases? Then there is the question about how long you expect the cases to remain shiny?

You mean like this? I thought this was exactly what Stainless Steel wet tumbling accomplished? Why mess with dry tumbling, car wax, etc.? These are my thrashed HXP .30-06 after two hours in my $50.00 Harbor Freight rock tumbler.

That looks good, I'll try that. all I've used is walnut with nufinish. Never tried a wet polish.

NuFinish tumbles can be done after a wet polish to prevent tarnishing. Others have experimented with using carwash/wax combo liquids in a wet tumbler instead of Dawn. I personally just use Dawn and Lemi-shine in a wet tumble and let them air dry. They tarnish a little, but I'm not too concerned about it.
