I just picked up a couple pounds of hs6 and loaded some 10mm with it. I'm happy so far. What are you looking to load with it?

Longshot gives you nuclear loads in 10mm with 180gr pills...

I only have two lbs of longshot, but that works fine for me. I need some more 10mm brass...

              HS6 is excellent in 9mm.

Nope. Never used HS6 but I have a pound and a half of Longshot. Worked OK, but not well enough to justify going away from other powders I have multiple applications for.

You want it? You local to me? I won't be burning it up any time soon. Will trade you pound and a half for a pound or most of a pound of something I use. Or lead, whatever. It'll still be on my bench 2 years from now.

Cool I'll have to give it a try. My favorite thing about hs6 is how well it meters. I have tons of 800x and don't mind it but won't load too close to max unless it's trickled.

Currently using 5.2 grains of HS-6 for .38 Special with Berrys 158 gr plated flat point bullets. Loaded and shot several thousand rounds. Works for me. Picked up an 8lb jug back when powder was scarce and was like ok, I've never used this powder before. What am I going to use it for? Great plinking load.

If 800-x is ANYTHING similar to 700-x then if you are using a rotor powder dropper such as the LNL dropper or the RCBS Uniflow, it seems to measure MUCH better in the PISTOL drop tubes.

Bumslie and someone else said that 700-x metered fine in theirs and I was having the same issues with 700-x as I was with 800-x but when I put on the pistol rotor and pistol metering insert, I can honestly say that I feel confident about metering out mid to high levels with 700-x. IT DOES seem to work without the use of a vibrator...

And also, 700-x is EXCELLENT in .45 ACP. I am still finishing up an 8lb or so botle that I have of it from the early 80s/70s...

Yes, they are both goo powders, but I can't remember what I use HS-6 for. I think it is 380 and shotgun slug loads. It also works in 9mm.

I have been doing test loads for my 9mm using Alliant BE-86 powder. I'm thinking about switching from HS-6 to BE-86. BE-86 meters better then HS-6. I have been shooting a 165gr 9mm with BE-86 powder. Works well. Love the heavy bullet out of a G-17.
