Strong mount vs ultramount

Can't say I've ever felt any kind of flex whatsoever from the ultramount. It's solid as a rock.

I have the Dillon strong mount which appears to flex a little bit. Is this ultra mount more solid than the Dillon one and worth replacing?

It's roughly twice as thick, iirc.

I don't have experience with the strong mount, but I can say that the ultramount is a tank.

I do have experience with both. I and 2 buddies went with the Hornady LNL AP on the Ultramount, 2 other shooting buddies went with the 650 on the Strongmount...another couple have the 550 on Strongmounts.

The Ultramount is much more stable. The sheet metal is much thicker and it has a lower brace between the legs

Actually, that would be a removable shelf.

Inline uses 3/16" steel for their mounts. There's no way you are going to have any flex. You'll break your press and bench before the mount gives out.

I guess it could be removed, but mine came with holes drilled in the legs and shelf for the provided bolts, lock washers, and nuts.

When bolted together, as the included instructions direct, it really stiffens the whole mount

Yeah, that's something they changed at some point, my first one just lifts out and the newer one's really tied into the rest of the unit.
