I would really like the grandpa time, as posted previously! Money would not be my concern if I had quality time with my old man or grandps'

My dad walked out on me and my mom so I'm not concerned about spending quality time with the guy. My grandfather I grew up around and I live with him right now. I know him pretty well, this is purely about money for me.

I reload some but buy more than I reload. I agree with those that say spend time with grandpa while you can. I also say it is great to learn and get the tools and supplies while you can.

As for if you should reload? Is the amount you shoot limited by time or money? If like me you are limited more by time then why add a time consuming thing to the mix? I reload for some to dial in accuracy. And I reload for my 50bmg for cost. But most guns I shoot factory ammo because I would rather be at the range shooting than home reloading.

Yes you can save money ! And you can figure out loads that can drive tacks on all your weapons. But a true reloader it's a hobby ! Not about time but enjoyment.

You will not save money loading your own. You will get better ammunition that you can tailor to your weapon. If you are careful and pay attention to details than re-loading is great. If you like short cuts and don't want to pay attention to detail, stay away from it.

I started in about 98 reloading back then it cost me about 1/2 the price of off the shelf ammo but i also had ammo that was perfect for my guns.

Today its still about 1/2 the cost but double what it cost me back then. Its great for odd calibers too they do not cost anymore than standard stuff.i load for 10mm about what it cost me for .45 and 300 mag is alot cheaper than buying off the shelf.

I load all rifle on a single stage press i like to trim and inspect at every round.I also load my 10mm on it too because i like to play around with loads and dont have a progressive for that.I load all my .45 on a dillion SDB when i bought it .45 was the only handgun i had ans shot it alot so it was easy to go progresive but i will say from experience start with a single stage if you make a mistake you will catch it a progressive will load fast but will also get you in trouble real fast.
