I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure a 1lb plastic powder can in a fire goes flash/poof/sparkle/flame and is a fire hazard whereas a locked steel container of powder is technically a bomb.

It's a portable magazine as such it is designed to NOT explode. It is most likely constructed to fail with out exploding. Also if it is a listed magazine it would allow you to legally increase your residential powder storage from 20 to 50 lbs. I would like to see the listings on the magazine, but at $300 I would just rather build one out of 1 inch plywood.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

My thoughts exactly. I missed the magazine part. I just thought that they were calling it that to be funny or different...

And as some have asked. Yes. I did make the move on this. Thank you very much Twystd1.

Now I only got one question.

HOW DA **** DID THEY GET 50 1 LB BOTTLES IN HERE?

The MOST I can stuff so far is about 36 lbs, but I am cheating with a 4lb bottle of TG.
If I put the Smallest bottles I got- about 24 -26 I think I can fit in here. Maybe a bit more, but that is NOT the 50LB that they said they could fit in here.

Hmmm. OMG! Is this a 5th dimensional box maybe? MAYBE if I unlock both locks on top it looks like a normal storage box, but if I unlock one lock or the other and lift and slide, I bet I will see more space...

Damn. Science is hard to figure out sometimes.

Damn. Science is hard to figure out sometimes.
Use square or rectangular cans, and you wont have so much wasted space as cylinders. Then maybe you can fit 50 lbs, of these. It is science, geometry in fact...

              Those cans contain 1lb of powder, and dimensions are 5.875H x 3.875W x 1.75D

              or 39.84 cubic inches

the specs on the magazine are 14 x 22 x 11, or 3388 cubic inches. Assuming no wasted space, you could put 85 of those cans in the magazine, or 85lbs.

Of course you could not stack them perfectly to fill every last cubic inch of the magazine, but 50 would probably be easy to get in there. So if you want to get 50lbs inside, don't use cylinders for storage.

Yeah Sorry. I left my Flux Capacitor back in 1986. NONE of the powder you buy today comes in metal cans. I have seen ONE can of powder.

and your GOEX black powder I would not want 50 lbs of anywhere unless SHTF...

In all honesty I think they need to update their description...

Meanwhile, I have been amusing myself by taking in various powders and putting them in different configurations. It might keep me busy for the next 4 hours. I might need to call in to work and say I will be a bit late.

I need to accessorize my box now. Maybe put a GI JOE sticker or two on it. I like that I can roll it all over the floor. I wonder how much weight it can support. I was gonna fill it with lead, but then thought, NAH, better to get the powder in there.

                OH.

I bet I could fit 50 lbs of powder in there if I put it all into baggies or even more if I took it out of the bottles!

                Story at 11!

                  Stilly
You can put about 30 pounds of powder in a single RE33 or RE50 container.
When I rarely buy one pound containers the first thing I do is double them up to save the space.

Stilly---It is so simple. To put 50 pounds of powder in it you open the containers and pour it into the thing.

Yes, yes yes. OKay I will now go see how much this thing can REALLY hold! HAH! I think we are on to something here.

What about 8lb containers? Can you get 6 in there plus a couple 1lb bottles?

Hmm. I did not try that, but THAT is not really allowed since Cabelas is telling everyone that it holds 50 1 LB containers. They should not be saying it like that.

Hmm. How to tell HS-6 from HP-38 or H-110? :\

I tell you what. I will get a shovel and a bag and I will get back to you. I have two 8 lb bottles, well, they are empty now, but I still have the bottles. I will move some powder out of the way and see if I could get those to fit in there.

try these.. much smaller than other brands and they stack well. I love accurate powders.
