    Longshot for Desert eagle?

I'm not looking for what powder to use, I already have h110. But I also have a couple pounds of longshot and universal I'd like to rid of. So if it'll cycle I'd like to load it up and blast away.

Just seeing if anyone has used Longshot and it cycles. Saw a couple blips on other forums that say its gtg, but wanted to see if you guys have any experience before I load some up.

I have a couple canisters of Universal I'd like to burn up too but I have a feeling there's no way 10gr of that stuff is going to make enough gas to cycle. Anyone tried?

    This is for 44mag

I have not, nor WOULD I.

H-110, Blue Dot, 4227, #7, 300-MP, Enforcer, LIL Gun, RED DOT, PB, ZIP, 700-X, 800-X are ones I have used.

But I am pretty sure by now that if I want to make MAGNUM loads, then I will use either BLUE DOT, ENFORCER, 300-MP, or H-110 and MAYBE 2400 to try it out.

LONG SHOT? NO. Universal- NO. I think LONGSHOT might cycle, but something tells me that unless you load a lot for universal, it will most likely NOT cycle. But maybe my bird is just finicky.

I would only use longshot for 10mm though. That is what it is for in my book... Now that you mention it though maybe i will make some Longshot up and see how it performs in 44 mag. Prolly better for a hot .44 special though. I am also talking out mah butt since I have not used Longshot and I am only basing my opinion on how it is reported to perform for 10mm...

Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

      update:
been busy, sorry for the delay. so i've loaded up some universal, longshot and h110. i've believed that the myth of desert eagles needing to be hot is kind of a myth. i've experienced it in the past with reloaded range ammo (44mag 240gr 1150fps) and it has cycled fine. with my experiment i've concluded that it's more shooter error that makes the action fail.

i did an experiment with different shooters. the guys i work with are all shooters. we all had no problems with the range's ammo, that 240gr @1130fps. i then handed it to multiple victims that are occasional shooters and jam jam jam. observing the shooting weak wrists and wobbly arms are the culprit.

to further my experiment with the desert eagle "needing" hot loads or very gassy loads i developed with universal and longshot. both cycled perfectly fine. all cycled extremely well and precise. both loads i tested with berry's 240gr tc.

with the much faster powders the gas should be minimal, 100% charge burn in barrel and very soft.

      chrono numbers are:
      range ammo - 240gr xtreme @ 1130fps (unknown powder)
      longshot - 240gr berry's @ 1310fps
      universal - 240gr berry's @ 1050fps

      the hot stuff:
      h110 - berry's 240gr @ 1415fps
      h110 - berry's 300gr @ 1365fps (50ae)

the berry's are gtg. held up perfectly fine, very precise, actually surprisingly precise.

i helped a dude at the range yesterday that had a new deagle and was experiencing problems with the range's ammo. the ro asked me to help him cause he knows mine runs. i check out the dude's deagle and it's bone dry. he was complaining about the ammo and blah blah blah so he gives me permission to give his a once over. i juiced it up with clp and handed it back. he and his friends enjoyed trouble free shooting from then on.

big boom is more fun but not necessary. that's all i'm getting at i guess haaha. this gun is the funnest gun, i can't get enough of it haaha. i want another one!

Well look at you you little DEAGLE helper!

OMG I just so wanted to call someone a DEAGLE helper tonight...

As I have told a lot of folks, ANY, and i do mean ANY problems you have with the Deagle, and all you need to do is clean it in order for it to run fine.

Now OP, don't ever put any crap into mine. I have mine trained. I have put close to 500+ rds through it and I have not cleaned it NOR lubed it. I keep it on a short leash and it DOES bite people.

BTW, if you have a comp on yours then you are best served wearing eye protection (but a ballistic face shield would not be a bad idea either) ESPECIALLY if you plan to shoot many plated rounds at higher velocity... And also, if you do not pay attention, your Deagle will spit at you so just keep that in mind if you shoot plated through a comp.

I'm shooting 180 grain xtp with h110 29grains it's a very hot and flat shooting load thru my desert eagle, super Blackhawk, and Taurus 44ss4. It's got a extremely large flame and punch. For lighter loads I use titegroup 11 grns it even cycles the DE. It des suck in my Rossi m92 and shoots 1 ft high at 50yqrds. Go figure it's uncanny
