It's hardly gonna be a magnum type load but try 6-7gr of bullseye. It'll be a really nice shooting load, not a lot of recoil. You could try and push the velocity with bullseye but it's really not a magnum powder. Bullseye is better left for the milder plinking loads.

Remember, with revolvers a light load isn't an issue as it doesn't have to cycle a slide. I don't believe a load like I mentioned would cycle a desert eagle.

Bullseye is way too fast of a powder for 44 mags, even in light bullet loads.

I'm shooting it in a ruger single six 8" barrel. I have so much bullseye I try to use it up, but I'll never get to the bottom of this keg. Just target shooting not looking for any hot loads. thanks

          NO!

Just because you put a magnum primer on it don't make it a magnum!

          Now GO get some magnum powder! H-110, 2400, 4227, AA#7, AA#9, Blue Dot, Enforcer, 300-MP, W296.

Putting Bullseye into a 44 mag shell only makes ONE thing, .44 special, as in special ed, as in retarded...

Do you talk to your gun? I talk to guns and have made my living talking to guns (and other things) and every single time I have talked to .44 mag guns (and even some of the .44 specials) they have told me that they did NOT like that Bullseye powder or that RED DOT or GREEN DOT that they were fed. Sure the PB went down easy, but the others just made them sound like .40 cal and a .44 magnum HATES to sound like a .40 cal... When I first loaded LIL GUN in my Deagle, it did not talk to me for a week after I shot that load.

So go to http://www.phillipswholesale.com/ and get some magnum powder like 300-MP (if you need to see where you are going, you can shoot one of those loads and light up the entire area) or some H-110 or some Blue Dot (They have it on sale for around $80/4 lb jug) or some 2400 or some ENFORCER or some AA#9 or AA#7.

WORST CASE you can get some 700-X but you are pushing your luck...

Trust me, your gun will stay loyal if you do this.

Be very, very careful. 5 - 7 grains of Bullseye in that big case is hard to see and the possibility of missing a double charge is very high.

10 grains of Bullseye may not blow up your gun but 14 grains will make you check the gun for damage after you pick it up off the ground.

Many years ago I had a 8 lb keg of Bullseye now I figure at 3.0 grains at a time I'll never get thru this, then reading a American Rifleman magazine found a article using it in a 12 gage, turned out it was dirty but I broke a whole lot of clays using it up.
My old Speer #9 Manila does show loads for cast 215 & 240 grain bullets I have one circled for the 215 cast bullet so I'm sure I tried it but as noted there are better powders if you can find them.

You can use Bullseye, there is load data from reputable manuals, but I think you would be better served with G38xOC's recommendation of doing an even exchange for a better suited powder.

Bullseye is VERY popular with non magnum pistol reloaders, so posting a want to trade ad would get immediate hits.

For extremely light plinking loads with your plated bullets, the fastest powder I would trade for would be Unique, but even that is not ideal. Good thing is that if you used it, you wouldn't need to worry about hitting the maximum velocity restrictions for plated bullets.

I think posting a WTT ad for an even exchange of 2400 or AA9 would better serve your reloading needs.

2400 if you can get it, but it's not an easy to acquire powder in my experience

Aside from your process verifying no double charges, there's no good reason to not make "plinking" 44 mag (revolver) ammo with Bullseye.

Millions of rounds of 38 special have been fired with < 3gr of Bullseye. Some like to use 357 mag brass.

I have to agree. For easy-shootin' gallery loads, Bullseye's a fine choice, as are Titegroup and W231. My light-ish load is like a sort of ".44 Special +P" that uses 7.0gr of either Bullseye or Titegroup, whichever happens to be available. This is under a 200gr cast boolit. With either powder, this quantity shoots very nicely out of the M629.

My load for when I first started reloading 44 mag was a lee 200gr LFP bullet over 7.0 grains of Bullseye. It was giving me 1013 FPS out of my 5 1/2 inch ruger super blackhawk

^^^ This. Have a look at .44 Special data. I'm putting some range fodder together right now that are using .44SP data + a little in Magnum brass. I'm using something a bit slower but Bullseye will work fine.
