    Winchester 231 label misprint

    Just FYI:

Winchester has made an error on a run of W231. It was marked rifle instead of pistol on the new label. I called the company today at 913-362-9455. They confirmed it was a mistake, in a rush to get powder out they forgot to change the printer to reflect pistol in one of the lots produced. It's the same powder and good to go.

Would it be considered a rifle powder if you shot the cartridges(pistol type) in a rifle?
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Or low velocity cast bullet plinker loads in rifle cases?

Works OK in my rifles with cast bullets.
Now, we'll have folks asking what the difference is between 231-pistol and 231-rifle.

I bet that means it is worth more, kinda like a baseball card misprint error... Is there a label floating around that is a flipped negative also?

I have HP38 for sale in southern california.
It's the same powder as Winchester 231.
