    Loadmaster 9mm to 40S&W conversion

Hey there, I'm looking to buy a loadmaster and I've been reading but can't find the answer, on the case feed it seems like they use the small case feeder but the large slide? Is that right? And is the shell holder the same for both? Anyway I plan to universal decap in 1 sizer w/o decapper in 2 flare in 3 seat in 4 and crimp in 5.

    I have my dies.
    Need 2 turrets
    case collator

Is there any weird consumables like the plastic nut on the Lee turret? If so I'll just get em now.

The .40 uses the Large case feeder assembly and the Small slider

Also, let me know if you could get it to feed 9mm brass, I got impatient and gave up. Works fine for 40 though

Also, some say you'll need a bent z bar for 40, but I was able to make it work with the regular z bar

If you shave down the plastic brass pusher to make the feeding fingers a little slanted, like at a 20 degree angle you can actually screw in the bolt about all of the way, and then back it out one turn. Once the pole slider is tightened on the bottom or whereever you put the friction at, it should clear the frame by the time it goes up and backs out a little bit. I got mine to feed brass almost flawlessly, but you then have to adjust the gap to be approx .070 inches between the slider and the feeder tube and even then there is no guarentee that the brass will not fall out and fall over. It is quite a fun excercise in futility though...

There ar some good MOD photos online. Mike's Reloading bench might be a good place too.

Thanks for your help I've been watching YouTube videos on this, I'll look at Mikes reloading bench. I'm probably going order this week.

I know that the Loadmaster IS the flagship of the Lee progressives, but in all honesty, the little pro-1000 looked very cute and solid as well. I know people have had issues with them, but at the price they are selling at, for a progressive, I know that I wanted to get one just to see what people were *****ing about.

                Just saying.

If you get the Lee Loadmaster, get some of those extra pawls that go on top of the shell carrier and help prevent it from slipping backwards. They cost about $3.00 each and are good for about 6k rds before you might have to bend them a little to get them to work.
