Yes, I should have said 20lbs. without special storage and/or other requirements.

    Isn't this per address?

The law is unclear. It's in the health and safety code so if anything you would think per structure. Like maybe you could keep 20 pounds in the garage and 20 pounds in a shed or something.

What really makes the mind boggle is you similarly run into issues storing more than a pound of black powder, but over in the transportation code it says over 5 pounds and you need a permit.

So can you keep one pound in the house and five in the car? What if the car is parked in a garage? What if somebody with such a car parks in somebody else's garage?

And of course this is loose powder, loaded ammo doesn't count. I have this image of some calgunner reading that and taping a primer to the bottom of the case and a bullet to the top and declaring the box to be one cartridge...

There is a private party seller on here from Ventura that has 50-80 pounds for sale in his post regularly.

              Thank you for this information.
I've never reloaded but have gathered small quantities of components to do so in the future.

              Separating them now.

Kinda face-palming myself cause I should have thought to keep them separate in the first place.

              Again, thank you.

LOL...doesn't mean it's legal. Dollars to doughnuts it's not stored in a proper/certified cabinet.

I have kept about 170+ plus pounds in my mothers bedroom stacked up next to her bed for three years.

                  I love my mom.

People break all kinds of powder laws. There are dudes on gunbroker who will priority mail you powder. Wildly illegal, of course, but nobody appears to be enforcing it. You would think the postal inspectors would set up a sting once a year just to get people to knock it off but they don't.
