    RMR plated vs. Xtreme plated

    Hello,

Was going to place an order in the group buy from my old normal place xtreme. But have heard a few good things about RMR looking at there 9mm and 45 acp.

Anyone heard pr experienced anything that makes them lean either way?

These are the bullets im looking at, comparing RMR plated to xtreme plated.

I have reloaded THOUSANDS of RMR's (mostly the seconds BTW) and they are GREAT. I have even loaded their 230grn plated in .45 WIn Mag and launched them at damn near 1500fps with no problems.

You can't go wrong with RMR. Top notch customer service and great shipping. I think the appealing part of RMR that got me hooked was the thicker jacketing that RMR does on their projectiles. Whether or not it really does anything, I do not have scientific proof but it just shoots for me just fine for my purposes.

My first reloads were with X-Treme but I have been shooting and ordering so much RMR that I don't really look back to X-Treme. My favorite has been the RMR 124gr Hardcore Match Flat Nose but I am thinking of going to 147gr.

        +1
Rmr is the way to go. I use the pulled pellets my self. Cant beat the prices on Fmj's with free shipping! I get my orders in 2-3 days after placing. Good to go for sure.
I only ordered this weekend from Xtreme due to the price. Finally received one of the orders. Product looks good, but it is plated vs the pulled Fmjs. I probably will only buy from Rmr in the future. Ymmv.

Souperman that is the exact bullet i was looking at and info i was reading about thicker plating and stronger core.

I was actually speaking to the owner of RMR on fb about hos product.

Guess my problem now is the xtreme group buy is $14 cheaper for the same bullet weight which is hard to ignore.

          Any other reviews either way?

I have dealt with RMR and they have always done me right. They are a veteran owned and run company. By the way if you use the coupon code
"thehighroad5" you get 5% off. Wish we had a calgun discount, but will use anyone I can get

Another RMR user here, the plated 230's are what i feed my Glock 41. No leading either because of the thick plating on them. My go to place.

                Well,
guess you answered your own question? At 14 bucks, thats a no brainer. However on the group buy you didnt have to pay shipping. If there is marginal cost difference, i will go with Rmr thank you. Rmr's service is so much better, I got a hand written thank you note for purchasing from Rmr. That to me is 1st class.

Nice timing on this thread. I just placed my first order with them today. Glad to hear everyone's positive feedback. Hopefully I can chime in with some positive input shortly.

Be aware that if you have been loading the Xtreme 124gr FN that the RMR 124gr FN is a longer bullet...you should adjust the seating depth if you want to maintain the same case volume/pressure...it also has more bearing surface to engage the rifling

I found the RMR bullets more consistent in diameter and weight...measured 20 of each. They are also much harder, as demonstrated by the impression left on pulled bullets and the lack of impression on seated bullets.

While some Xtreme bullets are double plated, you pay more for them, all RMR Hardcore Match bullets are. You lose a lot of the price advantage if you compare the RMR to the double plated Xtremes.

Shipping is included in the price of RMR bullets and they are sent Priority Mail...so you should get them in three days

I've loaded both, and decided several thousand rounds ago that I prefer RMR. And after experimenting with various coated bullets now, I've pretty much decided that RMR is my go-to bullet period.

BTW, I have gone through a couple thousand of the 45ACP "seconds" now, and they are a smoking deal at $105/k. They load and shoot just the same as the hardcore match, in my experience. I will buy them as long as they are in stock.

Also, just to clarify, the 5% off code is meant to be for THR members. Technically you're supposed to put your THR username in the comments section when you place an order. I don't know if they really enforce it, but there is a thread over on THR where they request that, so I try to follow the rules and show my appreciation. RMR is active on that forum and you don't see that often.

RMR looks nice so maybe I will try them but at about a $13.xx difference between their .44 mag pills, Yeah I dunno. I can usually find a coupon code for an additional 10-15% off on Xtreme bullets.

It is maybe worth trying them out once, but Xtreme is the company that I prefer.

I order all my 9mm .40 and 45acp through RMR. I have nothing but top notch quality and services with them.
