Yep. Say "M2 30" right up top.

I thought that was the case. I just wasn't sure about the Korean.
        Thanks.

I think it is Chinese. Koreans don't use Chinese characters like that on their ammo cans I believe.

That is .30 cal. M2 alright.
But the remaining scribe is my name & mailing address. I've been looking for that ammo can for a couple years now. Doesn't anyone at the post office know how to read addresses correctly anymore.

I think you may be right. As I recall, the 60A on the can corresponds to an example I had that had the nonstandard boxer primers. I didn't measure but my guess was it was a .217" boxer primer.

That is definitely Chinese and NOT Korean.

My chinese is pretty rusty, I'd have to ask my wife to help with this. But yes, to confirm, the can IS Chinese.

Since it's M2 we're talking about, this may have been property of the ROC (Taiwan), or it could actually still be given to the Koreans. Older Korean culture very much still used Chinese characters in daily life (ie, many Koreans practiced Chinese caligraphy and poetry), not so much with more recent Korean culture.

First row, left to right -- Normal rounds (FMJ?) M2 style .30 inches
Second row -- semi-auto rifle, made in "this" country
Third row -- Lot number 60A-9-127
Last row -- Contains 264 rounds (in 8 round clips)

vertical line on right -- Should not be used as food container
