    Old reloading equipment

My Dad's estate is going to have an amazing amount of older reloading components. Dies, presses, lead pots etc.

Probably has almost one of every caliber I could think of except maybe the real obscure ones and maybe even then once we have a chance to go through them.

I guess my main question is: Is there even a market out there for the old school type of equipment or has everyone gone to the Dillon style method of reloading. My first impression is that other than someone who wants to collect older equipment there likely isn't much demand?

I am not a reloader, so I can't accurately answer your question. However I can tell you I misses the chance to get my fathers and my father in law's reloading equipment and have regretted it ever since. There is something to be said for doing things old school even if it slower and more work. Wish I had the cash to swoop in and take this off your hands.

Some of the older equipment is indeed great quality. It all depends what you have. Get some pictures and names.

I'm using a 40 yr old RCBS jr press, a 40 yr old powder measure, and a 35 yr old Dillon 450, semi converted to a 550. They all do the same as the new stuff. Post that stuff up for sale!

First, my condolences to you and your family.

As to interest in your dad's reloading equipment, heck yes! Just make sure the word of the sale gets out to the reloading community.

The old stuff is still good stuff. Like all things some people need to have the latest and greatest thing until the next one comes out. Others know that the older stuff still does the job quite well.
My RCBS Jr press was used in the 1960's when I got it. I still like it better than my RC for seating bullets and sizing certain brass.

Just list the stuff in the For sale section at the top of the page when you are ready.

Estate sales with reloading equipment are always PACKED if the word gets out. Selling on here will get you a lot more money than selling at an estate sale, even if your prices are very reasonable.

                      Older reloading equipment

I agree with most of the other posters, I own and still use all of my older loading equipment, many of the pieces are 40 to 50 years old, they still work and make great ammo, list the equipment on the above reloading equipment selling website, it will bring you top dollar!

I've used bullet mold, dies, presses, lubesizers, etc. that are well over 50 years old.

Most old stuff is GREAT quality....... The value on generic dies is not that great...

Take a look at existing / completed gun broker auctions to determine ballpark prices....
