looking for 30.06 brass in bulk

i'm looking at starting a reloading 30.06 for commercial sale.
i've priced out commercial machines. but when i start looking at the cost of materials for reloading i get stuck.
when i start looking for new brass all i see is people selling in quantities o 1-1000 with average prices of about $0.90-cents each.
can someone point me in a direction of a distributor that sells quantity at a price south of the border of $0.50-cents?
....or are rifle rounds just not that profitable in the first place?

LAXammo sells new primed brass @~0.45 each in 30-06. Hope that helps.

oh, i know them. they are in westchester near LAX. i grew up there. went to their range once 20 years ago.

Funny, I saw 2 auctions that had 30-06 once fired, one was 2k cases for $450 and the other was about $330 for 1k cases...

I stopped looking. I dunno where you were looking at but both of those auction were cheaper than everything mentioned so far. Primers do not jack the prices up that much.

Already primed, just resize neck and load. Take off 30$ for the 1k primers, you'll pay 33 cents for non fired brass.

Search the reloading components and type 30-06 or 30.06 or 30 06 and ONCE FIRED

Eventually you might just type in ONCE FIRED and get about 17 pages of brass so you gotta look through them, but they are pretty straight forward and I only looked on the first page or two. One might be completed, but the one for $420 + 35 shipping for 2k was still there. I THINK they were already processed and cleaned and everything, just had to chamfer and debur them and you should be gtg...


Now that I had a second look around, there are PLENTY of places that have that stuff...

Looking for new brass? Now we are talking about once fired? An option for new brass could include pull down for 30/06 cases.

Pat's in Ohio and Jeff in Kentucky has always been a good source for new/never fired cases. Then there are once fired test cases from Remington. Some show signs of having been fired in a test chamber.

Don't want to "ruin a dream" but I might suggest you do a bit of homework about the needs to become an ammo manufacturer..like Federal, State and County/city licenses, equipment, insurance, liability, and a whole raft of things like what "facility" requirements there would be for the manufacture of ammunition...fire dept permits, etc, etc...

Got a feeling that to even think about legally manufacturing ammo you might be looking at very large amounts of money and lots and lots of red tape...and to "manufacture" or reload for sale without all the needed licenses, insurance, etc is probably a Federal felony offense...Doubt that just trying to sell at a gun show will satisfy any of the requirements and I'd bet without the needed things the gun show wouldn't welcome you..

Once you get your 06 FFL and start networking, you'll find all components cheaper than you can find advertised. From what I've heard from a few licensed ammo manufacturers is that some places give discounts for 06 and 07 FFLs but, many more give discounts or better discounts to the 06 FFLs when it comes to components.

i went to a few reloading classes. i know the very basics. but i was planning on buying a fully automated system that "does it all" for you. plug n play, so to speak.
