    Shotshells for reloading? Simi Valley

I have approximately 700+ empty shotshells from a recent Boy Scout event and I understand they may be used for reloading. They are 12 gauge from Federal and Fiocchi. Can someone tell me what they might be worth? I would like to sell them off and return the money to my Scout Troop. If someone is interested in purchasing them please contact me. I am in Simi Valley.

He is asking for discussion on what they are worth. Anyway, without knowing exactly what hulls they are, I'm going to say that they are only worth 2-3 cents a piece. You might get lucky and find someone to give you a nickel each but, that's probably more than they are really worth.

I'm asking for information. I'm pretty sure that is a discussion item. After I get the information I will post in a "for sale" forum.

Unless they are high brass, its going to be hard to find a buyer.

Those are penny hulls. Most ranges have plenty of those that hit the ground for free, but some might pay you a penny so they don't have to pick them up. 700 isn't very many though, especially mixed.

Thanks for the feedback, looks like there is little or no demand / value for what I have.

So...."If someone is interested in purchasing them please contact me."....is NOT an offer for sale?

Can the scouts reload them and use them for another event?

12ga is not worth reloading to save money, you can usually buy them cheaper than you can reload them.

Depends on what you are loading. If you are content with the cheap promotional shells like you get at Walmart, you are correct.

If course if you can get donated components, it is pretty cheap to reload.

Depends on how good you are at finding deals on components.

I currently reload for about $3.50 a box. Of course Palmetto just had a sale on Fiocchi's for $2.99 a box.

With the state going to no lead shot in most places, have any of you found any deals on non-lead shot? Have hundreds of shells and wads, plus now essentially useless lead shot, as my club only allows non-lead shotshells. Having difficulty finding non-lead stuff, like copper etc...

For targets, steel is the only real alternative. Anything else is wayyy too expensive for busting clays.
