Tide Spilled on AMMO can i use it ?

So my wife placed the tide on top of one of my ammo boxes that had about 300 rounds of 9MM in it. The rounds on the bottom were sitting in Tide for a while.
I dumped them all in a large glass jar, filled it with water and rinsed them all until I did not feel anymore soap.
Then I sun dried them all.
I inspected all of them and any that had tarnish on the brass I got rid of them.
The others I still have, about 250 rounds.

Question: Should I keep them and use them or throw all out ?

I assume liquid detergent.

I'd have kept the tarnished ones too. Shoot a few and if no failures, no problem. that would only last me a couple of weeks anyway.

Just kidding you should be fine. You should have scrubbed each one with a tooth brush. Using your wife's tooth brush would have taught her a lesson.

How did you "get rid of them "?

I gladly volunteer to take the rest off your hands, but I would just shoot them. A little tarnish won't hurt them.

I would not be afraid to shoot them, but I wouldn't run any speed drills or a competition with them. Since they were soaking in detergent and then submerged, just to be on the safe side I would only use them for range practice and keep a close eye and ear on things just in case of a squib. It's unlikely but possible that liquid got into some of the rounds and affected the primer or powder.

Just be careful but they're probably fine.

Put them in the oven at 1800 degrees for 30 minutes to dry them out.

I think you can dry them on the BBQ.

I would have just wiped them off with a dry rag to get most of the soap off and then a wet one to get the remaining soap off.

After the rinse what fabric softener did you use? Are they Downey fresh?

I think it might depend on the ammo.

You should take the worst soaked stuff and pull a few to see if the powder/primer is dry and viable. If not, pull the pills and reuse them...maybe even the brass.

I don't know anout your case but I have forgotten to take a few loose rounds of 9mm fmj out of my shooting jacket, run them through the washer and they still worked fine.

However, I would not bet my life on one of those.

Rinse them off and dry them. They should be fine. I pulled a 9mm out of the wash the other day. I took it outside and guess what? It fired... After tumbling for 2+ hours in my tumbler it fired. Once I took a 9mm down 90' on the ocean floor (on the side of a boat actually) and I fired it out of my PT-99. So I think you should be okay.
