American eagle 223 walmart tarnished cases

    Question,
I purchased some of the American eagle bulk packs at Walmart
and noticed that all the brass cases had spotty tarnish all over them.. I sure it will shoot just fine, just the first time Ive ever bought these 100 round packs.
Is this the norm for this stuff? thx john

some people believe the ammo sold for cheep at walmart is factory seconds. Small cosmetic blemishes would qualify as seconds. It will still go bang though.

    can you post pics
I will share my opinion and my load data, BUT I am just a guy with too many cigars and too many guns. Whatever I say is probably wrong.

Box was fine/ bullets overall look good except for the tarnished blotchie look
Overall look good to shoot. Was wondering just because I've been reloading or buying mil surplus never seen that on the cartridges before except I did get some stuff that termites had their way with the cardboard boxes. And doo dooed
              All over the ammo

I 'spose...it's just fugly...I have a box of 308 American Eagle that is nice a shiny (the OP had American Eagle.

I'm happy to buy no ammo, which is why I started reloading, and haven't bought any in about 9 months.

Last time I bought "any" ammo was when the buzzard proof reg went into effect. 2008 or 2009 IIRC. I bought 2 boxes of Federal Premium 270 with Barnes bullets. Simply because at the last minute the DFG increased the buzzard area to include my fav. spot. And I didn't think I had time to order components and do load dev. before season opener.

The price was right so I bought it. I reload all my ammo except shotgun and 9mm. I have a rock chucker single stage and it's a labor of love!

Just throw it in your tumbler, or shoot it first, then in your tubler.
