CCI 300 LPP upside down in 100 count box...

Everytime I open a 100 count box of CCI 300 LPPers to load in tray I always have to flip 6-8 primers so anvil faces up once I get primers in hand loading tray.

I hand prime (Lee Auto prime) so this is more annoying then anything else. Once primers in tray I want that cover on tray ASAP. Picking up loose primers from the floor is no fun (dont ask me how I know).

I would think this would be a PITA for progressive reloaders. CCI 500 SPP never a issue.

I guess I could switch brand but CCI primers work really well for me once loaded.

    Anyone else see this???

CCI does have a couple of primers flipped the wrong way out of the box.

Winchester is good with all the primers flipped right side up.

That is why there are ridges in your prime tray. Dump the primers and gently shake the tray and they will all flip in the correct side up.

^^^^^ that's why there's a flip tray. I prime on press (redding t7) so once flipped I they go in the tube and into the priming system. Never saw the appeal of hand priming from pistol ammo, even when I was doing it on a single stage.

Heck, my federal LPPs come sideways in the box. Always lots to flip. Thats why you have flip trays.

PITA when you have to separate CCI SR and CCI small rifle magnums. And yes i was able to determine which one was which.

But seriously, things like this are why people like to fly airplanes into our buildings...

                  WAIT a second.

OP: HOW many primers do you find flipped?

I think I am getting ripped off here...

No, progressive loaders use a flip tray and pick up the primers and load them into a primer-picker-upper-tube.

However, you have ridges to shake them, and they'll land anvil up just due to their weight distribution. If do you happen to get one or two upside down and you are using a hand-primer, when you see one coming in the wrong direction, just push it up before inserting the case, pick it up, flip it over, and put it back.

I always have a couple that need to be flipped too.

I've become a fan of the Lee safety prime system on my turret press = built in flip tray!

See those lines in that tray?

Those lines catch the primer top edges so they flip easier when you push them with your finger or tweezers.

Yeah it may take about 10 minutes or so but they do not slide around with those lines in there...
