i would recommend any single stage that has some sort of system that lets you change dies without resetting them. hornady and lee come to mind.
my preference is to prime on a press. so consider the priming system as well.

ty for the reply's all of you have great points and I appreciate your knowledge and experience. from what Is posted I will want 2 presses at some point a progressive and a single or turret press . hmm it looks like you can make a 650 a single press with a couple of parts too. anyone done that?
and did Dillon fix the 9 mm powder spill or do you have to modify it as I've seen on youtube not sure how old the video was.
would it be cheaper to buy all the essentials in a kit (case trimmer reamer ,scale, tumbler ect.) and what kit and why you prefer these tools over another would be very help full

I do my higher volume pistol rounds on a Hornady LNL AP, but everything else gets done on a T7. Honestly the T7 was quick enough for my volume, but I got a deal.

I use the T7 as a single stage but with 2 sets of dies installed. Need to back up a step? No problem. It's weakness is it's priming mechanism. VERY robust machine.

I don't want to have to buy twice. I shoot 500+ rounds a month total atm 223 308 9mm 45acp . I was recommended a redding t7 turret press with versa pack. I don't want stuff ill have to replace after a year.and what's the disadvantages or advantages of turret vs progressive the 650xl dillion is about the same price range. I've heard that turret or single presses make more precise match grade rounds than a progressive. but is much slower than a progressive. any recommendations welcome ty in advance.
Progressives are great if you need to make a lot of ammo in a short time. They are NOT great to learn on- as a general rule of thumb.

Turrets are almost as fast as progressives, but the Lee Classic Turret is the fastest in my opinion. (the flat iron one, not the cheaper aluminum one)

The Redding T-7 is an excellent turret, but it aint going to be as fast as the Lee Classic Turret and the T-7 costs about 2.5x as much.

The nice thing about the Redding T-7 is that it will hold 7 dies so you have a lot of convenience there. Some folks like to buy it as a utility press, I want one for that reason. I want to put several resizing dies and priming pocket swagers on it and just change out the shell holder/ram when necessary.

But back to the LCT, it has an auto index feature that allows you to use a free hand to grab the next component instead of having to manually turn the turret. You can do more in less time and that saves you time and gives you more rounds per hour in the speed department. If you got 4 turret heads you can load your different die sets up on each and just swap out calibers/shell holders/powder in a coupe of minutes between each caliber. You can prolly make your month's worth of 500 rounds in a Saturday for about 3 hours of pulling the lever. Fully decked out (primer and powder dropper) you will pay around $200 or less for your Lee Classic Turret. You are not gonna get anywhere near that with any of the other turrets/ progressives.
