Data for 200/230 RN xtreme bullets

Just got some 200 and 230gr RN plated xtreme bullets for the 1911. Whats your favorite low recoil load for these bullets while still using a factory guide rod spring?
    Thanks

I load 230 grain Xtreme with 5.0 grains of bullseye. It feeds in both 1911's and a Glock 21 with no problems. 5.0 grains of Bullseye in what the military spec loads have been pretty much since the round came out.

5.4 grains HP-38 with the xtreme 200 grain RN. COAL=1.250. Works great in my 1911's, Glock21, and XD.

Xtreme 230gr plated round nose with either 4.4gr Titegroup or 4.7gr W231 work best for my guns. I use Win LP primers and seat to 1.26"

5.5gr of Power Pistol works great for the 230gr as well. I LOVE them with a 7.0 gr charge... Certainly not low recoil though.

For low recoil I would have to go with a 5.0gr of Bullseye or 700-x on a 200gr pill.

BETTER load for lightness is to cast some 160gr nubbins from Lee or get some Dardas 150gr and put 5.4-5.7gr of 700-x behind them. FAST and light recoil. You have essentially made a .357 magnum out of your .45 acp.

Need GOOD SS pins to clean your brass? Try the new and improved model...

And remember- 99.9% of the lawyers ruin it for the other .1%...

                HE SAID LOW RECOIL GUYS!

Since you don't state what powder you have, I guess we can assume you have access to anything .

Actually 3.0g Clays/Red Dot/Promo/Titewad/e3/Extra Lite/Trail Boss have all worked well for me in my 1911 with 230g FMJ, Plated and cast. Reliable cycling and locks the slide back on the last round.

Lower charges of Unique like around 4g will also be low recoil. You'll get sooty cases, unburned flakes spewing out the barrel and blowback of gases into your face, but the load works OK if that's all you have.

The fastest powders work best because they build up pressure quickly without driving the bullet very fast. That pressure expands the cases to seal off the gases.

When working with low recoil loads in autoloading handguns you need to work a balance between getting enough pressure to expand the case and enough momentum in the bullet to operate the action but not too much speed to cause heavy recoil.

                  For 200gr 45 ACP out of a 5" 1911.

                  Bullseye:
                  • 4.2gr = 717 fps
                  • 4.4gr = 745 fps
                  • 4.6gr = 760 fps
                  • 4.8gr = 800 fps
                  • 5.0gr = 835 fps
                  • 5.2gr = 850 fps

                  TiteGroup:
                  • 4.8gr = 798 fps
                  • 4.9gr = 814 fps
                  • 5.0gr = 827 fps

                      230gr xtreme using Win231.
My Gen4 Glock 21 would cycle with 5.0gr.
My FN FNP-45 needed 5.2gr to cycle.

5.0 grains of bullseye is the magic sauce for 45. Pretty much any weight bullet. You can go down to 4.5 or lower but you'll need to adjust recoil spring to match.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

See lot's of loads, but only a few seating specs. What are you seating the 200gr. at in your favorite recipe?

1.250" OAL is what runs consistently in my 1911's (for 230gr RN and 200gr SWC).

1.27 OAL binds up in my FNP-45 mags but works fine in my Glock 21 mags. 1.26 works fine in both. (230gr TMJ Xtreme)
