Looks like they need 300v - not sure on the amperage.

Its been a long time but I seem to recall dummy rounds have a blue painted bullet. We would put one every so often to stop the gun on the A7's

Thanks! Interesting read. I certainly wouldn't want to have a live round on display on my mantel. Specs say 50mJ can ignite the primer. A static shock from walking around your house can easily reach 60mJ. That would be a bad day

That round is used for maintenance. The weight and shape enable the weapon techs to cycle the handling system at speed to ensure the timing is correct. When you shake the round you'll feed a weight sliding around. The unit it inert.

The projectile is a dummy (think 20mm slug) but the round will fire. It's electrically primed but those have been know to occasionally go off by procession. These are the rounds carried most often for pilot gunnery training.

It doesn't have a primer. It is an old dummy round. If it was electronically primed, there is a good chance of it going off do to RF energy.

I work with this stuff right now. The blue tipped ones is a live round with a inert bullet. Like old salt (BB stacker) said. The rounds come with all sort of bullets with different markings and colors. The dummy rounds that we are currently using are all solid one piece and are all silver or gold in color. They are only used to verify that guns are clear of ammunition.

Some of the older dummy rounds the bottom unscrews off.

BB Stacker beat me to it!

The Blue Tip Inert rounds will still KILL YOU DEAD. They just won't explode and burn while doing it.
