havent bought gun show ammo in years though
too costly just to get in and park now when I can order new online

I have shot up quite a few thousand of the Miwall reloads in 9mm and .45 ACP. No squibs, no KBs so I am happy with them. I have been at their booth at gun shows and watched other shooters come up and complain about being shorted on 1,000 round cases, squibs, etc. Guess I have been lucky.

+1 on Miwall. They have great prices on primers and bullets. I bought a S H I T -ton from them the past few shows. Plus, they have ammo cans on the cheap compared to local surplus stores. They are my first stop at the show.

I've never yet had a problem with Miwall reloads, although I don't buy them anymore since I reload. Their prices on factory ammo tend to be slightly lower than everyone else's at the shows. Maybe they go around and price compare and undercut the competition by a touch, I dunno.

LAX reloads I've used in the past, too, but I didn't like them. Most factory reloads are underpowered but the LAX (9x19, .40SW) that I have used were really light. Makes me think they're skimping on the powder. They used to employ nice looking ladies to work the booth but at the Ventura show it was just dudes, so why even stop by?

Never bought Surefire because they're always the priciest of the three at the show.

Bulletman's (Serge) reloads are perfectly reliable, too, and if you're in SoCal you don't have to go to the gun show to get them. I haven't seen him advertise in quite a while but every once in a while someone puts together a group buy from him. Check the Ammo for sale section in the marketplace.

The truth is, purchased reloads are generally fine for plinking or casual target practice, and they'll all do an okay job at that. If you want really great ammo, you've got to roll your own.

I do reload, but thinking of getting only 9mm from one of these vendors.
Prices aren't too bad, and I still reload from a single stage press.

I can reload 9mm for about .10-12 per round whereas the cheapest reloads I see at the shows are still around $200.00 per 1k. But there is that time and labor thing. For my other calibers, reloading is such a better deal, .45 ACP, 7.62x25, 9x18 Mak, .223, .30-06, 7.55 Swiss, 8mm, .30-30, 7.62x39 but yes, for 9mm, it becomes a bit more of a decision for just plinking ammo.

I never buy reloads. I just buy factory ammo by cases. Sometimes, I buy a whole pallet, especially shotshells. It is cheaper that way.

Last show at the cow palace, some vendors (LAX included) had reloaded ammo that cost more than same factory loads. They are trying to cash in on paranoia. Rolling your own is like printing money.

They still sell ammo at the gunshow? Wow I thought they were trying to close that gunshow loophole...

I liked Surefire but I have not bought any since 2009. They used Extreme bullets, CCI primers, once fired brass and I forgot the powder. But out of 750 rounds that I bought 650 fired. The other 100 are still in a container.

I think they would shut down online ordering before they lock down gunshow ammo sales. But who knows, these guys are capable of any number of shenanigans!

If you shop around and watch sales, it's cheaper to order it online. The best part is not having to lug a heavy case of ammo all the way to your car - instead, it comes right to your front doorstep. What's not to like about that?

But all in all, I think shopping around a bit is healthy and online typically the first place I check for new bulk ammo is ammoman.com They have, well, they USED to have decent prices, they have gone a tad higher now, but still got good things at times.
