    Pulled down some ZQI 7.62x51

Pulled 10 and had a pretty good laugh. For a "nato" load it sucks, he'll for ANY load it's a joke. I shot 40 with a spread of about six MOA. Then shot my 168 a-max loads just under MOA. So I knew it was the ammo.

    Here are the details.

    -6MOA
-Bullets are 147gr OR 149gr on the dot.
-Powder is ball like with many inconsistencies.
-Powder is averaged at 43.6gr with a low of 43.2gr and a high of 44.4gr
-Primed Cases avg at 177.1gr with a low of 175.8gr and a high of 179.8gr
    -OAL consistent at 2.790

    PRICE:
    10.77 after tax for 20 = 53.8 cents each

    verdict:
Good reloadable brass but joke of a load. Even pulling the bullets and reloading is nearly useless.

If your going to the trouble of pulling ,try seating a cheap match bullet for short range practice if accuracy is desired.
    Keep it simple!

I was bored and had a few boxes to shoot last time. Getting to the end of my .308 brass I am looking into what's around.

I usually shoot 168 a-max exclusively but had to shoot the 40 to get the cases lol

What distance? 6 moa is pretty terrible.

Zq1 in 5.56 is good enough for about an inch at 100. Its some of the better cheap 5.56 ammo out there. Weird its so bad in 7.62.

          100 yards
charges so far off and bullet weights not consistent can't say I'm surprised

Just plink it away and reuse the casings with desired bullets and load. The brass is good enough for few runs. This is not a match ammo or made for precision platform. Use an AR308 and it's great.

Maybe your gun just doesn't like the ammo, I find it hard to believe that any commercial ammo would shoot that bad at 100 yards in most rifles. Different guns like different ammo, but you already know that since you reload.

2 grains and .8 grains will not cause the bad accuracy. There is another issue at play.

CALGUNS DICTIONARY "FLIER": when a shooter wants to turn a 1 inch group to a half inch group because he flinched.

My LR-308 is consistently under 2 MOA at 100 yards. I have had a couple of 1 inch groups but it mostly falls under 2 inches. Since I have 1200 rounds of this stuff, the brass will be saved until I gather all of my reloading components. Thanks for the post as I learned a little.

Black Hills match ammo is just as bad in terms of variance. But it shoots better.

I shot under MOA just minutes after shooting the ZQI. I do not believe its my rifle. Plus, your math is off. There is 1.2 grains between loads. I plan to reload the cases with my load and do a side by side. My rifle is a 24" 1x10 twist SS HBAR, it likes anything.

My LR is consistently nearly 1/2 MOA at 200 yards. It's definitely the load. But the brass is good!

The gun didn't mind the ammo. But I have used BH ammo before and man it was dirty.

I plan to reload the cases with my 150fmj Hornady loads and shoot side by side. I also plan to load some cases with IMR4895 with a 1.2gr difference using the pulled projectiles and compare those.

I think we all know that when it comes to reloading consistency is key.

                        ZQI

                        IMR4895

Does anyone want to see them burn side-by-side?

I would just shoot off the remaining stock you have and save the brass for reloading. It's more work to tear down the cartridges unless you really enjoy doing it or something.

Also, kinda curious about the burn rate compared to Ramshot TAC or H335, if you have any to compare since those are also ball powders.
