            Yes, think more 'polishing' than 'sanding'.

            I spent about 10 seconds with 1000 grit sandpaper on a flat surface of course. That showed me everything was even. Then used the sandpaper to knock off a couple of burrs. The rest was done with one of those nylon pot scrubber pads. Worked much smoother and no spills.
