    New ISP wanted

I've got Verizon DSL. Looking for a new ISP in SoCal. Any suggestions? I've got Dish rather than cable.

I prefer DSLEXTREME and I heard they got some new speed setups but they have not really done too much wrong and they have been good to me so I am loyal to them.

The only thing I would consider upgrading to is a fiber of some sort, but not FIOS if it only includes TV packages... **** TV. I aint paying for it if I can avoid it.

Need GOOD SS pins to clean your brass? Try the new and improved model...

Depends where you live but as the above posted mentioned Verizon FIOS is a great ISP if it's available in your area. Even better than Verizon FIOS would be Google Fiber but that's not available yet in So Cal.

Other than fiber I highly recommend cable providers like Cox or Time Warner. Cox will begin offering 1GB speeds to So Cal customers by the end of the year.

We have Verizon Fios, and it's good, but I heard the new Fios Quantum is really bad. I have a friend that had to downgrade from Fios Quantum to regular Fios, and when the techs came out they said there were tons of problems.

DSL is so archaic. Go with fios and you will never look back.

I'm in North County and there's no fios option. Have had Cox Cable for 14 years and have never had a problem. Fast and reliable speeds for what I pay.

They also never throttle or kick me off. I get occasional emails saying I've gone over 250gb a month and maybe I'd like one of their pricier plans but I'm never penalized for it.

Your options are going to depend on where you live. Verizon FIOS is supposed to be quick and reliable. I currently use Time Warner in west LA for both cable and Internet (fast 300/25 speed) and zero complaints.

I know people hate the cable word but if you are in TWcable's area they are pretty good for Internet. They just bumped everyone to 50 or 100 Down speeds at their two starter packages, and they bumped the speeds on all their higher tiers as well.

If I had a choice I'd go with Verizon FIOS. No can do in my area.

Same here. And I notice they offer free wifi at bus stops and some parks.
