How to fix this error? dpc_watchdog_violation

From time to time I get this error that freezes my computer and then it has to restart. The message is dpc_watchdog_violation.

How do I fix this?

I actually used another article from Microsoft with that dpc error message, but it didn't have anything to do with disabling the fast startup.

Windows 8 would be my first try. I had decided to NOT get windows 8, I am going to skip it in protest, but Win7 should last a few more years...
