I have been a Firefox user since early beta.
Firefox has a bad run of like 5 versions that sucked, but I haven't seen any issues for a while. Firefox does have a memory-leak or something, but if it drags it's feet close it and reopen, same as any browser...

Chrome is the best, and I use CoolNovo. It is Chrome without all the crap you don't care about.

I used Opera for awhile, but got tired of all the pages that it couldn't handle properly. This was several years ago, so maybe they've improved, I don't know.

Chrome isn't an option because I don't trust Google and will not use anything of theirs unless it is so massively better than the alternatives that it would be worth their non-stop information gathering. In this case, Firefox is just as good.

                So yeah, Firefox.

I tried Pale Moon last night. I didn't feel any faster than FF. So if FF's speed bothers you, I don't think PM is a good choice. Chrome is still faster.

Today, we have the latest benchmark results from the top four Windows-based Web browsers, along with a sneak peek at Opera's upcoming Chromium-based overhaul. Is this really a step-up from Presto/Carakan or just another Chrome clone?

FF uses a lot of memory with a single tab, but the least with numerous tabs open. Opera seems to have a huge memory leak problem, lol.

FF is more stable under their test.

Chrome is best in their security checklist.

The data in the chart below is a geometric mean of all four performance-based categories: Wait Times, JavaScript/DOM, HTML5/CSS3, and Hardware Acceleration.

The data in the chart below is achieved through the geometric mean of all four non-performance categories: Memory Efficiency, Reliability, Security, and Standards Conformance.

Another vote for an older version of Firefox.

                        Hello,

I run Firefox 24.5 ESR (because I hate updating all the time).

Keep in mind I'm a nerd. I love tweaking the settings, and I found quite a few things in the config settings that slow Firefox down. A lot of them are no longer needed, being holdovers from dialup.

If you do Firefox, I will be happy to share the settings with you. Just let me know how fast your internet is running.

                        Regards,

                        Josh
                        .

I'm currently running Firefox on a Windows 98 Desktop. Works fine.

I've also dabbled with Opera...it was ok.

So strange that Tom's found FF more stable than Chrome. That's not the case for me the past year for sure. I've had crashes and lock ups ever sense the major update a year ago.

Chrome runs like a top for me.

My problem with firefox (Mozilla) is that they made their CEO leave because he supported Prop 8.

Try SRWare Iron. It is based on the source code for Chrome, but doesn't report to Google. I've been using it for years and absolutely love it.
