I really think this fear is overstated. How many waiters are carrying around card skimmers? Seems like they'd be caught fairly quickly. Besides, that scenario is no different than if some thief got your wallet.

I have read all the FAQ's and info I could find and here are my main problems with it:

    1) When battery dies you have to buy a new one...this means your spending $99 a year for the convenience...that's too much in my book

    2) Its not the original card and I wonder how many places would not accept it because of this.

    3) Using some one else's card is now even easier..your required to take a picture of the card but if some one has it for a few minutes I don't see how that's going to stop any one.
$99 a year? Where are you getting this? The FAQ says they suspect it'll last 2 years, and that's with several card changes daily. I'm guessing in actual practice it will be longer for many. I only have 2 or 3 cards, and there are days when I only use one of them.

As for adding the card, you're not paying attention. Simply having the card isn't enough, you have to add it to YOUR Coin account, which you authenticate, and then have to provide additional authentication to add the individual card, probably some sort of security question. Where would your waiter get that?

Nope, it's clearly not for me... they used an Apple device in the promo.

I hate having so many cards. I plan to pick one up....maybe. My wife always rollers her eyes when I bring up things like this.

I want it to add my Costco card, and customer reward cards. I'm not sure if that is an option or a future option.

so when your phone dies, you lose all ability to access your money....brilliant.

Looks pretty silly to me. Who carries a bunch of cards anymore anyway? I have 2 ATM cards and a credit card. Most of my purchases are done online, so the other cards stay home. Agreed that the appeal is probably to the hipster crowd...I tend to avoid those guys.
