Damn. I am about ready to wipe out my OS and migrate to Windows 7 x64 ultra premium pro corp whatever.
I have XP and I loaded Skyrim up and all DLC again, so it was great, but I wanted to do the MOD thing cause I see sooooooo many mods out there. But all I have it seems are issues with one thing or another and I am wondering if it is an XP issue. I always had issues with Skyrim. I at ONE time had my windows XP set to boot up with a 3GB ram limit, then I had Skyrim Vanilla loaded and it ran with a CTD every now and then. I had to NOT use the high res texture pack because it put purple things in the game, then when I got dragonborn and hearthfire it was so damn buggy that I had CTD about every 5-25 minutes. Forums seemed to suck with a bunch of asshats telling everyone else that they needed things that made no sense to me at the time.
AND, I do NOT want to migrate to windows 7 unless I have to because if I do, I will have to reinstall Forged Alliance and Supreme Commander again AND then there is this damn pita called STEAM that would make me have to d/l like 37+ GB of games in order to play a few of them... I do not care for that.
So has anyone played skyrim on xp, then moved to 7 and found it any less buggier?
I am thinking that the only real advantage is that I can allow it to use more RAM then 4GB that it apparently made reference calls to (which was why I set the 3GB limit)...
I just want to run around with some of the cool new mods and player abodes and stuff and enjoy my limited free time at home...
