Please help out a PC dummy

I get these random highlighted and double underlined words all throughout all websites as of lately, is it some kind of virus or what? I have not clicked on any but now and then I get a small add video type pop up in the lower end of the screen. Anyone have a clue?

It is adware it sounds like.

Get malware bytes and spybot S&D and run them. it SHOULD make them go away.

It also would not hurt to see if any weird looking exe files are running on startup.

Click START, click RUN, type MSCONFIG (for windows xp-8) and click the tab on the upper right named STARTUP.

Look for anything that shows random letters or jibberish, maybe even something running out of a TEMP directory. Uncheck that item and restart, then go hunt it down and delete it...

This happened to me ONCE a long time ago. I was seeing ads up the wazoo in forums and stuff. I forgot what I did, but since it has not been back, I think it was prolly some sort of adware that got lodged in my system...
