Possible, but unless you want to spend a lot of money yourself to set it up, it's far, FAR simpler to just get someone you know that isn't involved to be the name on the paperwork. A relative in another state with a different last name, for example.

it's really not about who created the site or owns it... they just need to locate your host and complain to them or do whatever they can to get your site taken offline. it's a lot harder to hide where the site is hosted.

It's not only possible, it's easy.

Go to the store and buy a prepaid debit card, register it with a fake name and address. Set up a new gmail that's not connected to any other email addresses.

Go to your chosen hosting company and purchase your domain - give fake information when registering and use the new gmail.

Design and set up the site - done.

There's no registration information tying the site to you and no payment information tying it to you.

Use a public wifi connection when accessing it and you're good.
I use to be an anarchist but I quit that; there's too many rules.

I realize it can go either way. I always see Geeks/Nerds as being feeble guys like Sheldon Cooper/Jim Parsons that play the part of being able to get victimized very easily. I am NOT that variety, but I can hold my own and today I taught my employers a thing or two about what I know when it comes to computers and what to have in your tech box. Oh, I am only an unpaid intern, but I sure as hell aint a geek/nerd... SO, when someone calls me one of those, it ruffles my feathers enough to make my panties bunch up... I guess you are a better guy with thicker skin then me. But then again, I stood in the street squared up with a guy toe to toe and let him scream his head off at me one day, and when he was done I started to solve his problem and educate him on how the law works.

To most I.T. pros I know it IS a compliment. Hope you get the answers you need.

I think after high school, it is a compliment. Some people call me a geek, but I have to disagree because my geek cred is severely lacking.

Geek is a compliment. As stated above just ask the all and mighty powerful google, it knows everything all you have to do is ask it.
