i had the yellow light 3 times had warranty replace it 3 times, i dont have a very good track record of taking electronics apart fixing them and putting them back together, just ask my 2 old iphones

The only issues with my ps3 was when my bluray reader died. I sold my first one to my buddy(in perfect condition a few years ago) and in the last 6 months, he has managed to get yellow light about 4-5 times. And I keep telling him, not to enclose the system and keep it open and not to let it run all day.... But he never listens. He will fall asleep with it still on, or keep it on and leave all day..... I kept telling him to just buy a new one. But he rather keep fixing it

The blu ray is a breeze to replace. You can get one on the internet for 40-60 bucks.
