    PS3 wont start up

I got the original PS3 and today it won't start up at all. I touch the start button, it beeps and the power light blinks red nonstop. What is going on with it?

Looks like the video chips came loose. You'll need to pop it open, and re-seat the heatsinks with thermal paste.

Happened to mine 3 weeks ago.

It should be. I used some stuff from Fry's with a high temp rating.

Make SURE they are on their good and making full contact. Mine is still kicking.. It's the first time it died on me since being bought brand new in 2007.

If you don't have YLOD (yellow light of death), you probably need to do a re-flow. It can be done with a heat gun (see YouTube) or if you have an infrared device big enough to fit the board in.

Obama ended the gun control debate when he decided to arm the Syrian rebels with fully automatic machine guns and rocket launchers. He proved people need guns to protect themselves from tyranny. Did he give the rebels background checks before giving them real assault weapons?

I had mine fixed a year ago and it broke again a couple months later. I just bought another. Sucks but i used it a ton so it was worth spending the cash on a new one instead of more repairs. If mine broke tomorrow, I'd wait to get a ps4 or another ps3 when the prices drop next month.

The only issues with my ps3 was when my bluray reader died. I sold my first one to my buddy(in perfect condition a few years ago) and in the last 6 months, he has managed to get yellow light about 4-5 times. And I keep telling him, not to enclose the system and keep it open and not to let it run all day.... But he never listens. He will fall asleep with it still on, or keep it on and leave all day..... I kept telling him to just buy a new one. But he rather keep fixing it
