    Webroot AntiVirus blocks Calguns Site

I most of the time use my iPhone for Calguns forum. So I opened my desktop computer today to access Calguns and Webroot blocked the site with this warning. Interesting....

Yeah there is something going on with the site.

Last night I started getting BLOCKED content. I wonder if a link in the banner/ads section links to a site that got infected.

By "known threat" do they mean free-thinking?

I don't think Webroot are anti. They didn't block other firearm forums.

Wow, a popup like that with no details. Webroot must be the most horrible company full of idiots to not include an option to see details on why the site was blocked. My software has a "details..." Button that tells how/why something is blocked and usually with event timestamps.

A "known threat" without a name is a unknown threat.

I doubt that it's the Calguns site that's directly causing the problem. Content filters like this often drill through several layers of links/pages and if any of those pages have hot linked pictures, videos, or other content that resides on a server known to have malicious content, the filter will flag it.

There are a number of companies that do nothing but maintain databases of sites that have been reported to contain "threatening" info. One of the most "conservative" filters out there is maintained by AOL.

I doubt it also. And thanks for the explanation.
