If you buy the current copy-write holder's version of the Model "M" REAL buckling-spring keyboard ( http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...uckling+spring ), you can pop keys off, put them in a bottle dishwasher basket, and throw it in the dishwasher.

If you have a rubber-cone keyboard (anything <$50?) then you get another one, and pitch the dirty one. I can't see wasting time cleaning a rubber-cone keyboard, even an M$...

Yup, the best way, i do that all the time when i really want to clean my keyboards. For a quick cleaning, i just use rubbing alcohol and a compressed air can

I have a Topre Realforce, and I just use a keypuller to yank all the keys. It makes it easier to dunk them in detergent water, and blow out the board with canned air.

Take your keyboard outside, turn it upside down and blow it out with a can of air or blower tool (look at Metro Datavac Electric Duster). Then buy some wipes like these: http://www.amazon.com/Max-Profession...=keyboard+wipe. You can also find similar wipes at your local retailers like Fry's Electronics, Best Buy, etc.

You can also buy some stuff called Cyber Clean. Just take your time and repeat if necessary.
This is exactly what I do.

Keyboard outside, upside down and blast with compressed air. Then follow up with Cyber Clean. Stuff works great to remove dust and loose stuff. To remove the grime, you may have to use the dishwasher method or wipes that were made for cleaning PC components.

turn it upside down & shake - repeat as necessary.
occasionally wipe the dust off as well.

On regular unplugable desktop keyboards a company I used to work for tested them by running them through a dishwasher without soap. Worked well but a fairly drastic measure IMO.

Hell, you can even clean a motherboard in the dishwasher, if you take the battery out:

I just turn it over and pound on it. Watch the crumbs fall out!

FYI, I use this method for more than just my keyboard.

                            1. Wash your hands more often

                            2. Don't eat over your keyboard

After those two, just chuck the thing if it gets that dirty. Yes, a $100 keyboard. If you get it that filthy without eating over it, you're wasting money spending that much on a keyboard.

                                Great suggestions

1.Because we all know that our hands are the only source of dirt on a keyboard right? (especially after 3 years of not cleaning)

2.I dont eat at my desk.
