Help with Android tablet and Calibre

I have been using Calibre with my Nook and Kindle for several years now and have a sizeable collection of books that I would like to use on my tablet. the problem is that using Calibre, I load the books on the device, but I cannot find them from the device. I have tried several readers with the same issues. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? Do they need to go in a particular folder? And what format works best for Android?

It depends on what reader you are using. You can get nook and kindle apps. The other apps have thier own directories for books. Just point the apps to the proper directory. It's been a while since I've used calibre on an android tablet, so I don't remember the exact name of the book folder.

Android will read .pdf, .epub, .azw, .mobi files. It just depends on the app you are using.

I just started using Google Books. Since the last update you can load your books (epub, pdf) into the web app and it syncs across my Nexus 4 & 7.

On my ASUS Transformer I would just load them in the main dir not in a folder and they would show up.

Thanks everyone for the help. I will play around with it and see what I can do.
