I Just Deleted Microsoft Office 2013 From My Computer

What a waste of time. I couldn't stand looking at it or using it. Good thing I still had Office 2010 installed.

I have setup 2010/2007, is 2013 a lot different? I guess I can grab a copy and install on my xp machine for kicks...

Good for you for unloading them. I personally am SICK of seing them grow in size. Soon EVERY program will do EVERYTHING and will be 8+ GB in size...

Photoshop will be expanded to include presentation making, e-mailing, you-tubing, and diagram making.
Photoshop will come with new utilz to ping addresses and crawl webspce.

Office 2014 will be enhanced with photo editing capabilities that will rival Adobe and allow you to somehow properly store images in a DOC file without having to be a female administrative assistant... Coupled with new Website editing and script development technology you will be able to create C+ and VB programs from Word and Excel without needing to leave the programs...

        WTFE.

          You won't be installing 2013 on XP. It's Windows 7 / 8 only.

I haven't installed it yet myself. I can get it for $9.99 through work, but I'm happy with 2010. I've got a copy of Home and Office 2010 that I bought at Office Depot, and a copy of Professional Plus 2010 that I got through work last year. I suppose if I get one of those Windows 8 tablets (I'm thinking about it still) I might get 2013, but ... we'll see.

I really wish they'd stopped development of Office after '97. Office 97 was the perfect productivity software. It had every possible feature you could ever need, and none of the bloated visual bull**** that you don't need but Microsloth forces you to put up with.

If you don't have a compelling reason, don't upgrade to 2013. They put a log of effort to make it look more modern, but it's pretty much the same under the hood.

Never had any issue, actually I like it with new templates and Skydrive friendliness. But yes some folks have trouble with change of any kind.

I'm on 2010 and see no reason to upgrade.

BTW, I still run 2003... Online doc converts give me the docx readability.

2013 is dope. GF is a Sexretary and she just got to use it on my laptop the other day. Now she wants it. Currently she uses 2010.

I use open office also. Hate that sometimes formatting isn't perfect between MS office and open office, but for the most part it works amazing (and it's free).

so i just installed it. frankly, i don't see that big of a difference with 2010. the thing that disappointed me a lot on 2010 is that i cannot customize the ribbon (formerly toolbar) like i did before. (particularly on excel).

i don't like the bright background of 2013 though. i went dark colors with 2010 for outlook but even the dark in 2013 is very bright (white, and only the borders go darker color). as you type, the text render very smoothly but sometimes not indication of speed. meaning, it lags a little then suddenly it picks up. not like typing on calguns via chrome where it's more real time. a little fancy animation kinda thing with 2013.

other than the font, spacing, outlook not having a little short cut bar at the bottom left for switching mail->calendar->contacts, etc. not much difference that i see. seems the upgrade is more about "look". can't tell yet on performance since i'm on 64bit and i think i got the 64 bit version installed.
