    Delta six controller

I did a search on "Delta Six" but didn't find anything. Sorry if it's a dupe.

Here's a hands on for the beta:
Glimpses of the Delta Six have been teasing an ultra-realistic and motion-enabled gaming controller since last fall, and now that it's back on Kickstarter, we've gone hands-on with a prototype to see just how it handles. Though hardware and software tweaks have been made since it first surfaced, its creator David Kotkin says the peripheral is roughly 80 percent complete. For example, the beta version we took for a spin was only compatible with the Xbox 360, but the final product is set to play nice with the PS3, PC and Wii U, in addition to next-gen consoles via a software update. Hold the matte black prototype in your hands, and you'll notice it has a fair amount of heft to it. Its weight didn't take an immediate toll on this editor's arms, but some light fatigue was noticeable after about 20 or 30 minutes of play. The hardware is actually a stock airsoft gun that's been gutted and stuffed with Xbox 360 controller parts, a rechargeable battery and an Arduino. According to Kotkin, the faux firearm's code will be made open source, and users will be able to program it to their heart's content.%Gallery-187766%

It's unclear from the video and write up but it sounds like in the final version pitch and yaw will provide input for the right analog stick and roll and the stick on the fore grip will do the left analog stick. Anyone know anything about this?

cool idea but it would make gameplay so crappy it would pick up my desk and throw it out the dam window. movements look far to slow to be any good for pc gaming at all.

so i say it is a no-go for pc because it would be so much slower to do complicated movements/actions that are fairly simple and fast to execute on the keyboard and mouse.

for console it would probably be pretty cool but still not a good idea for competitive play.
I fear paper cuts far more than firearms.

I'd have to try it to believe it. Plus adoption will probably slow at first, but i'd wait till more games would support it off bat (that and several revisions have retooled the bugs, because they're obviously will be alot of kinks they forgot to work out)

Problem with kickstarter like the pebble is they rush and give you a product that's great but not up to snuff (unless it has a programmable rom or firmware to upgrade)

Of course you would need this to go along with it:

then you would need a decent pair of VR goggles:
We sit down with the visionaries behind the Oculus Rift at CES and tried the prototype. Is it everything we hoped for, or is it just another product that promises virtual reality and can't deliver? The answer surprised us, read about it inside!

looks like that early 90's dream of VR might be close.

FYI, the lead engineer for those goggles was killed in Santa Ana today. I guess there was a high speed chase and he was driving through an intersection and the suspects ran the red light and hit him. Too bad, he was only 33.
