Head mouted video camera?

I have to confess first that I know nothing about video cameras...

I am planning to film my coming USPSA and other events to demonstrate to my friends and family that firearms can be use in peaceful competitions.

The only hand free camera I know is GoPro series, but would like to know if there is any other option before committing to certain products line.

Contour is one of the next most popular..

There is also one called a Drift (I have it) which can be turned on and off via remote control.

I have seen the footage from the go pro HERO and it is pretty decent footage even if it IS mounted on a bike handlebar or seat post. I am still looking for a decent compact camera that does IR and is hooked to at least a 720 portable dvr.


BTW, you can find a lot of these by going to amazon and searching for one and then looking at all of the related cameras...

It seems smaller and light than GoPro

btw, when you guys filming competitions, what mode do you prefer? higher resolution or higher frame rate?

The HERO3 Black is the best action sports camera available IMO and I've tried a few. Contour has the better form factor since you can clasp it to the side of your ear pro, more easily. But I think GoPro is smoking them when it comes to features and image quality.

which mount for Contour allows you to attach it on ear pro? Flex Strap?

The Contour Profile mount works well for ear pro

I am gonna have to say, the Contour DOES look very nice for the price. I would go for the ROAM myself but anyways, good to know good to know.
