I can send you a copy of the Install disc for $1 to cover shipping and fuel.
You'll still need an activation key though, which I can't help you with.

Play. Play alone, play with your spouse, your kids, your friends. Just play.

You can download the MS files to create a CD from these links (these are legit)
Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

You will still have to come up with a valid license key.

Don't kid yourself, Windows is still the best OS for the majority of end users.

Are you looking for a pirated copy of Windows 7? If so, nope, can't help you there.

Windows 8 is only $99 from newegg.com though:

If you find a disc or download one I can give you a legit Win 7 pro key. Otherwise PM me if you can't find one, I can mail one or send you a link to download an .iso.

                      We gots to change that.

I am a hardcore XP pro user of about 10+ years. I JUST installed windows 8 on a laptop that someone gave me to test it out. Not impressed.

After reading on that Linux Distro thread, there is a flavor of Linux out there for everyone.

I am confident that one of those flavors could easily replace Winblows for anyone looking to put it on their laptop.

                        Sorry, no.

                        1. Your first mistake was Windows 8, not 7. 7 is XP after a full course of steroids and speed. It's fantastic. Every other release, remember? 95 great. 98 teh suck. 98SE great. ME teh suck. XP great. Vista teh suck. 7 great. 8 ... you know the pattern.

                        2. When actual major software companies (other than Valve) start putting things out on *x operating systems ... come back and talk to me. (Autodesk, I'm looking at you here ...)

                            Pricewatch find:

                            Via this: http://www.pricewatch.com/search?q=W...&condition=new

I couldn't use any Home edition, but if you never need to RDP to a rig, then you would be fine with a Home ver... I have bought Windows OEM for family and had coworkers buy from pricewatch with ZERO issues with activation/key/etc. 32bit OEM for 67.95 + shipping it looks like, isn't bad.

                              Yeah, about that...

I have all flavors of Windows 7, but because I have to remove EVERYTHING from my HD and start over with it I do NOT care to run it. They can eat a dick for all I care. I made no mistake loading up windows 8, I was given a laptop and SOMEONE wanted to know that I had experience with it, so I loaded it up to play around with. I have since then forgotten my PW though and the thing is locked. (yawn, I do not feel like busting out the offline nt pw killer yet) I do not care that winBLOWS 7 also likes to grow in size and has to have about 20+ GB of space on the C:. I have enough issues without that crap hogging up everything and then services? Oh lordy lordy. What ever happened to 21 services running if that? Now I have to have like 60+ ARE YOU INSANE (lookin' at at MS at this one, not you ). Hey how about saving some of my CPU for my REAL programs instead of syncing up TIME and a security center to monitor my security center that monitors my firewall and my antivirus that both monitor each other and my security center. WTFE.

IF I could take the guts out of 7 and replace it with XP I would. Maybe like, have a windows 7 FRAME with the engine of XP and some wacky hybrid doors and AC. You gotta have AC for the summer drives.

It is already starting. I have burned and passed out three FUDUNTU disks to people and told them to CHECK it out. I believe that Steam offers NIX setups but I am unsure of others. Okay so worst case scenario I might need to load up WINE? Well, with all the freed up resources I am sure THAT would be no problem.

0o0o I gotta go and transplant a mobo into a different case. AdioS. BTW, it is for my multimedia system that is running Win7. So shaddup now okay? pretty please?

Okay, now that I am done with the soapbox, I understand that windows 7 is prolly a decent mainstream way to go and JUST to play that damn UFO game I might do that, but I sure as hell aint looking forward to all of the work involved in doing that. And in the meantime, I have a network to run that now has TWO macs, a Fuduntu laptop, Three windows XP boxes and a windows 7 box. I am going to integrate a Linux distro that does active directory and is a pdc and let them all fight and see who wins. Oh yeah, and 4 more systems ready to come online and they will prolly be Linux when I feel like bringing them up to an OS. Imma have an army over here.
