desktop won't boot up with USB 3.0 PCIE card installed

I'm running an intel pentium 4 3.0 ghz and 2gb ram


it won't boot up, but when i take out the card it's fine. is this card not compatible with my computer? should I get a USB2?

Try plugging the card into other PCIe slots. USB 3.0 cards are usually PCIe x1, you can stick it into x4 or x16 slots.

Has the card been setup properly in the first place?

Sometimes they require you to hit ALT-S or some combination of keys and set them up, then the bios needs to be adjusted also so that it is not looking for the card to boot from.

What is the make and model of the card? Why did you buy THAT model?

are you saying the PC won't boot, or that Windows won't load? PC should boot regardless of what card you use, unless of course it's a bad card.

If the PC does boot, but Windows won't load, it's probably bad drivers. You'll have to boot into safe mode and remove the drivers, then reload them once you're rebooted into regular mode.
