AT&T DSL slows to a crawl while downloading gun-related videos

I have AT&T DSL Direct (no home phone required). Lately I've noticed that if I download any video that is gun-related from Youtube, my Internet speed drops exponentially.

I am paying for 3Mbps service (I know it sucks) and usually get 2.6Mbps. If I start downloading any gun-related video from Youtube (haven't tried other sites), my speed drops to anywhere between 0.10Mbps to 0.9Mbps. It doesn't do that if I download music or other videos from Youtube.

Does anybody else notice that? When I call AT&T, they assure me it's my phone jack, my network cable, or my 7-year-old modem (that works fine when I'm not downloading gun-related videos). Really, it doesn't matter, because I've already ordered Comcast Internet service. They have 20Mbps service for just $10 more than I'm paying right now anyway. But I just find it peculiar how my speed drops like that.

att does not know what the content is but youtube does and throttles

But my entire Internet speed drops if I download gun-related video. It doesn't if I download other types. It's the total speed.

It's not AT&T, since all they do is transport the content. I have AT&T and don't like them either, but fact is fact.

YouTube sucks. They won't let you pause and buffer a video anymore. I get 8-10 Mbps download and I can't watch a YouTube video in HD.
