This is a PC house and only PCs are allowed to be here. I hate mac and all they stand for and the yuppie culture that likes to use them.

That is my official statement but off the record I just grew up PC and even though I am no longer PC I still mainly use PC computers. There is really nothing wrong with macs, In fact they do seem to have the bigger pipelines for watching star trek or composing fan movies and making garage band music.

But I also think that a lot of hatred for MAC users from us PC users comes from all of those asshats that chime in and tell the PC user that the solution to their problem is to buy a mac. That kinda **** perpetuates the problem and it will never go away. Yeah the same can be said for PC users doing that to MAC users too but lets face it, Go to a computer show and 95% was PC and there was ONE little table in the corner for MAC the last time I was there. What the hell good is a MAC if it never crashes but can only drive on 5% of the roads? I am kidding mac users, I know that that number has been expanded to at least 7% now. But the simple fact is that MAC is trying to make a comeback and they have been for some time but because a lot of folks are more familiar with a PC over a MAC based on trends growing up and how we were raised, PC will be dominant for quite some time. Oh yeah, please don't go on to boast about MAC useage growing higher and higher because of the movie industry and what not. I used different kinds of technology at work but it does not mean that I care to take it home with me. Hell, if that is the case then MAINFRAMES are making a comeback too! Gogo citrix! Kevin Mitnick was on to something when he stole that Sun OS from IBM or Boeing or whatever a long time ago... He was getting some software ready for his mainframe he was building at his house.

There is a lot more complexity to this question and answer about pc vs mac. Sadly most mac users will not delve there because they lack the brain power to parse that complexity. They do not need to be smart because they only need to know that in order to fix it you need to MAC it... They follow a dead guy around on twitter and think that he is the world turner and the modern day Einstein but they fail to understand that as brilliant as Einstein was he bumbled around a lot and made a lot of mistakes... I guess that makes me an Einstein of reloading and employment interviews then...

Rather then push Mac users away, PC users should pull them closer and comfort them because let's face it, MAC was designed to not have any command lines or DOS or any of that that the user could see. It was designed to operate on graphics and pretty pictures which mainly only retards could play with all day and not grow bored with. That could possibly mean that Steve Jobs and Bill Gates seperated a long time ago because Bill saw Steve's constant attention whoring and did not want to be associated with that anymore, but in reality, Steve was really reaching out for help. He needed help because as we found out later on when we had the technology, he had cancer and was dieing but was too much of a retard to be able to convey those feelings and thoughts to English and discernable inteligent phrases and sentences. Therefore he died and the flag of the Mac enveloped his body as we let him sink to the depths of the ocean. Now we will have retarded crabs and double posts all night long from iphone users shocked that I have uncovered their little secrets. Watch as the mortality rate goes up as more and more iphone zombies get hit by cars and cause collisions.

And that is why I use a PC to access Calguns.

BTW. Thank you for asking this question. I seldom see a good question like that get asked in a public forum and it makes me wonder how thick of a book that I could write just letting myself be free to answer the question from my dreamstate where everything makes sense and I can't wait to see how many critics will actually take my answer seriously after the first .25 lines. I wonder too how many more times I will have to edit my post because there are so many more things I can throw in here.

Most Mac fan-boys and fan-ghouls are new to computers, and don't do much on them. Some are not, but most are, and have little knowledge about tech, unless they do graphic design and/or host a web site that is always down, and take A LOT of pictures of food.

Rich-kids got a Mac. Non-rich-kids took their old PC and installed Linux natively and learned something more than just basic use instead of just buying the newest Mac for 2x-3x the price.

Been a Mac user for many years (dating back to the time of the Apple 2c and 2e). Definitely not a hipster or newb. I've also built several PC's (mostly used for music and video production in a studio setting). I still use a PC at work but for personal use, photo editing, music and video production in the studio it's all Mac for me. Never had an issue on all the macs I've owned over the years. They are real workhorse computers especially if you're running things like Final Cut Pro or ProTools. If you're just surfing the net and doing basic stuff a regular PC should be fine.

Mac laptops and towers are superb and you don't need a condom to surf the net!!! Had a custom built PC die of computer aids...not cool. : )

Actually, I used Linux then FreeBSD because Mac was still on OS 9. When Mac OS X hit v10.1, I switched because OS X was a far better *nix OS for everyday desktop/laptop use. If we had OS X when I was in college, I would have been using Macs instead of Linux back then.

Amazingly enough, I switched from FreeBSD to Centos for server deployments. Disgusting, I know.

Macs are pricey I will give you that but it's one of the few things where you actually get the quality you pay for. I've been into computing for a long time (one of the benefits of having a mom who is a computer scientist), macs may be trendy in your eyes but that because before they became popular they were mainly used by movie editors and music producers prior to the multi colored iMacs coming out (years before the first ipod).

Back in the day Macs apparently even had a hard time pulling DHCP from Verizon DSL (my father retired from VZ, and Macs just didn't like using the industry standard DHCP), so they have had more issues than most noobs know about (before their time, pre- OSuX).

If someone doesn't do much on a PC they don't have issues either.

The problem with PCs is really the fact that people that shouldn't be in the Administrators group... are. Removing them would solve much of the "PC's have issues and are more susceptible to more malware" whining via Mac-fans, but nobody wanted to do it, so most PC malware issues was literally PEBKAC, and layer 8 related.

PC only because that's what I have. Tried a Mac Mini, didn't like it, sold it.

Sometimes though, when I'm feeling adventurous (or just out on the road), I use my Fujitsu Lifebook tablet which these days dual-boots Xubuntu/Precise Puppy Linux.

Resisted the Mac for ages because of the hipsters but I caved in because of the Retina display. I have the MacBook with Retina display and it is actually enjoyable to read things on the computer.

you hipster... lets flog this guy... off to the dungeon!!!! I always laugh when people claim macs are for yuppies... do they say pc is for low life losers? I mean whats the other side say? If you buy a mac you will get what you pay for... if you're worried people will think you wear skinny jeans, drive a miata or some other form of small roadster with matching chuck tailors that is there fault and ignorance... Buy what makes you happy... go to a apple store and play with them... you'll see the beauty and elegance of apple vs normal pc laptops... without macbook pros the pc companies would have nothing to strive for, nothing to keep them on their toes to further innovation... you will always see pc companies trying to look as sleek as the mac and can never pull it off... I love pc just as much as I love my mac... I just use my pc for different things and it matters not what others think... good luck with what you choose... asking mac vs pc is like saying glock vs any other gun... its like throwing a grenade into a crowded room
