1st time build Part 1...Full tower case input...Done.

Ok,

So I decided for 2013 I will build my 1st computer. The first thing I started looking at is cases.

So here is what I chose: Thermaltake Chaser MK-1

What do you computer gurus think? Anything else comparable in this price range?

I personally do not like LARGE cases. Full towers can be rather heavy and bulky. Have you seen this one? Corsair Vengeance Series Military Green C70 Mid Tower Computer Case. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811139015 Microcenter in Tustin had one on display for about $139 and the front panel is unique in that there is a cover over the reset switch so you have to flip it up in order to press it. I liked that. Kinda like military equipment and the top has unique metal bars that either lock the case closed or act as handles. I forgot, but I was impressed. I want one to replace my multimedia system when I upgrade to a newer mobo/cpu setup. That nexus catepillar looks cool too, but I would take one of those to replace my master system. I am not a big fan of a lot of plastic facia. I like minimal, simple and straightforward with fitting function.

As a Calgunner it is your duty to get a case like that. They also have them in white and black on Amazon. I have seen these cases in person and they are quite impressive. I even have one on my christmas list. I myself use a CoolerMaster Storm because I like the built in handle and bottom mounted PSU design plus it is nice and roomy inside and not that large.

What Motherboard are you going to get? This is one of biggest keys in building a computer. Make sure RAm matches up, cpu socket type, pci xpress, and other goodies.

needs better wire routing and the fans on the cooler are mismatched too.

Just installed a Corsair H60 liquid CPU cooler

those all in one deals work but I would worry that something would fail and ruin my setup. a two fan setup on the heat exchanger would be ever better. The only reason I would consider liquid cooling would be for the low noise attribute.

If you're going to get RAM with fancy heat spreaders and a large cpu cooler make sure they fit and dont touch.

the fans on the cooler is how it comes from Noctua... thats how they want it I guess...http://www.noctua.at/inc/imageviewer.php?item=34&pnr=0 AND that was my first time really trying hard to hide wires... Its good enough for me

I will recommend that you take a look at cases physically first at your local stores (Fry's have a good collection on display) before deciding.

While bigger full size ATX cases tend to be easier to work on, they also take up more space and can be an eye sore.

Awesome advice! I happened to stop by Fry's. I was amazed as to the ones I thought I liked and what I actually liked.

After going to Frys, found out Stilly and I have very similar taste. The CM towers caught my eye, especially the Storm Trooper model. All those bays!!!

The Frys sales kid, then showed me the Corsair C70 in military green which I was liking a whole lot. They had it for $139, but walking in I notice that they posted they now matched internet pricing. I immediately pulled out my Droid and pulled up newegg and amazon. Amazon had it cheaper for $125. I said, if you guys price match it...
