I can't believe he put that thing next to his head. For testing a prototype one think you would have had some type of actuator pulling the trigger behind lexan. Dude is lucky to be alive.

I wonder how hard it is to alter the temps/chemical composition of this plastic printing to get a NEW breed of plastic printing that is reinforced or has like, fiber reinforcement (similar to fiber reinforced cement) and would thus make a receiver that was able to withstand a beating. I am sure we all know that as soon as this really gets out or as soon as some dumbass does ONE thing wrong with one then all of this is gonna get banned or put on the highly regulated list...

The lower was the printed part, he wasn't testing a printed upper. Aside from springs, the lower receiver doesn't do much and there's no reason to really worry about the upper.

Besides, he could have had an aluminum lower made by vulcan and experienced the same failure.

Just had a thought. 3D printed receiver for a single-shot .17 HMR rifle. Breech-loaded would make the most sense for a prototype
