Program to merge video clips

Anybody know of a free program to merge several video clips into one video clip?

Depending on what you are trying to do, you might be able to create an ISO file with nero by adding the clips as chapters and burning without a break in the chapters

I have gone down this road before.

The quick answer is NO. BUT, this can help you, if you have a way to make ALL of those clips the same format and codec and even if the same program can convert them all to the same then THAT is a huge plus when you do find one.

With that said, some programs do not cost that much to do what you want, there is a program called Free Video joiner (http://www.freevideojoiner.com/) but it MIGHT or MIGHT not work. I once used Ultra Video Joiner (http://download.cnet.com/Ultra-Video...-10332817.html) and it failed to work for me. I might have also used Easy Video Joiner (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multime...o-Joiner.shtml) also but I do not remember any of them working right.

I had several videos that were chopped up and I wanted to join them into one long video and I think I ended up buying Wondershare media cleaner and then used the converted clips to get joined in another program like proshow or something.

The problem is that there are so many codecs and rates and what not even two different WMV files can sometimes not be joined because of what they are encoded with. It sucks but you will find these little things will throw a monkey wrench into your plans from time to time. But hey, give those a try and see if they work for you.

Ideally, if you can get a good video editor that will allow you to put the clips in one after another and then output that to a file then it should hopefully work for you. A Good and easy to use one for that is PROSHOW (http://www.photodex.com/proshow) Followed by Pinnacle Studio (http://www.pinnaclesys.com) in my book.
Sony Vegas might not be too costly but Adobe will start costing some money. I have used Pinnacle and it looked decent for what I did.
